Usk Digital: Our Story, Our Inspiration
Founded in 2024 in Leicester, UK, Usk Digital is a creative tech studio that draws inspiration from the serene banks of the River Usk in Wales.
This is more than just a summary of the business; it tells the tale of how academics, nature, and an innovative spirit came together to create a heartfelt digital brand.
Where It All Began
The journey began at De Montfort University, where Mehrdad, our founder, was a Software Engineering student working on SCIPS (Scenario-based Cyber Security Instructional Platform Simulator), an ambitious cybersecurity education platform.
Mehrdad successfully created and implemented the first interactive web game-based learning application while working with the Department of Cyber Security. The application's goal was to train students through actual cyber security scenarios. This innovative project was more than just a university achievement; it was a game-changer, setting off a digital endeavour that would eventually affect customers well beyond campus.
Mehrdad established Usk Digital after seeing the potential of fusing design, usability, and cutting-edge educational technology to create creative, approachable digital solutions based on experience and a user-first mentality.
The Meaning Behind the Name
Usk Digital honours the tranquil River Usk in the Brecon Beacons, a location rich in tranquilly, vitality, and clarity. During a contemplative trip, a walk by the river turned into a symbolic moment where creativity flourished and complicated concepts felt straightforward. The decision to create a brand that reflected the river's inherent harmony of power and serenity resulted from that epiphany.
